The CLARIS filter cartridge contains a layer of natural active ingredients at its lower end that stabilize the water in the tank, thereby reducing limescale deposits at the bottom of the tank. The system works without energy or additional action: thanks to the natural movement of the water in the tank, it continuously passes through the layer of active ingredients. With its activated carbon composition, the CLARIS filter cartridge always uses the upward flow principle. Through ion exchange, its upper part filters exactly the amount of water needed to obtain a perfect cup of coffee.

CLARIS provides the ideal water for perfect coffee specialties. The capacity of a filter cartridge depends on the water hardness.

Limescale: a source of breakdowns and a destroyer of taste

Limescale builds up when water is heated. It narrows the diameter of the pipes, which lengthens heating times and increases power consumption, and can even lead to a complete machine breakdown. Limescale also affects the taste of coffee. In small quantities, it is an important flavor enhancer. However, a high limescale content in water gives it an unpleasant aftertaste and thus prevents, also due to temperature variations, the optimal development of the coffee's aromas.

CLARIS makes descaling superfluous

Water quality is a decisive taste factor, as coffee is 98% water. In addition to calcium, mineral salts, and fluorides, tap water often also contains traces of lead, copper, aluminum, and chlorine. Directly placed in the water tank, the CLARIS filter cartridge filters the water just before each preparation.
